I am a stay-at-home mom to three wonderful children. My 6 1/2 year old son, 4 1/2 year old daughter, and 3 year old son keep me pretty busy, but I love it! My husband and I have been married since 2004 and he is an amazing, hard-working man and lots of fun to be around. I have a degree in early childhood education and love being able to use my degree everyday with my own children as we home school and enjoy life! We love spending time with family and friends and we enjoy singing and playing music. A couple years ago, I picked up a serious coupon-ing habit to try and save our family money, as we have been working hard to make wise financial choices and be good stewards of God’s blessings.
In the beginning of October 2010, I noticed that my nephew, Evan, had a really cute ribbon pacifier clip. After purchasing pacifier clips with plastic clasps that both broke, for my first two children, I figured if I found the materials I needed, I could make something super cute and personalized for my son. I found some supplies and I absolutely LOVED how it turned out!
I never really intended it to be anything more, but when people started seeing what I had made, I started getting all sorts of requests for personalized clips. In the following month, I received 17 orders from people who saw pictures and wanted some of their own!
Having the sewing machine out again inspired me to make some taggie blankets as a gift for a friend’s newborn baby girl. Again, when people saw pictures, I started receiving requests for orders. I had been wanting to try making some “baby legs” for my two youngest, so I finally did that, too, and the same thing happened. After seeing my Paci-Finders, a friend asked me to make some mitten clips to give as stocking stuffers at Christmas, and that inspired me to find new ways to use my materials as well! My kids loved picking out ribbon for their mitten clips, and I love knowing where their mittens are at all times.
By trial and error, I have become confident in the quality of the products I am making and am having so much fun sewing these items!! I believe that God has opened a door for me to continue pursuing a refreshing and relaxing hobby, while allowing me to remain a stay-at-home-wife and mom to my family. This has also allowed me to bless others on many occasions by sharing my passion and creativity with others through gifts!
